My 2005 Honda Insight Hybrid
Visitors to this selection
There were
approximately 17,000 of these first generation Honda Insights made from
1999 to 2006 so they are fairly rare. Luckily most were sold in the USA
from 2000 to 2006.
The car has an aluminum body and chassis. It weighs ~1870 lbs with a 1
liter 3 cylinder engine with 62 Hp @ 5700 RPM.
With careful driving these cars can deliver tremendous gas mileage. How
does 80 mpg at 65 mph, 90 to 105 mpg at 50 mph or 120 mpg at 30 mph
grab you?

Locost
+ Suzuki = Locouki

This section of
the website has information about my home built replica of a 1963 Lotus
7 race car.
The car weighs about 1000 lbs and is powered by a 1 liter 165 Hp @
10,800 RPM Suzuki GSXR-1000 super bike engine. The engine red line
is 12,400 RPM. Performance &
handling are "outstanding" to say the least.
Driving this car is like having a nervous cheetah on a leash! 0 to 60
mph in ~4.1 seconds but the top speed is restricted due to the low rear
end ratio. Fun isn't restricted at all. (A cheetah can do 0 to 60
in 2.6 seconds! Some can hit 70 mph!)
